Is it possible to extend stay in Airbnb? ›

Submit a trip change request in Trips—if your Host accepts, your reservation will be updated and you'll be charged or refunded as necessary. However, if you want to stay longer but your reservation has already ended, you'll need to submit a new reservation request to your Host.

In addition to 90 consecutive days, the 90-day limit also applies to 90 days spread throughout the year. This is known as the “90-night rule” as it applies to short periods rather than long-term lets. Airbnb will accept a 90 day booking but it falls under their long term cancellation policy. The renter would be charged the first month rent and then Airbnb would take the payments out monthly.

The longest amount of time you can stay in an Airbnb varies, but most hosts prefer guests to stay for no more than one month. Generally, hosts are more comfortable and welcoming if you're booking for a month or less. However, some hosts may be willing to stretch the length of a stay for up to three months.

If you stay past the agreed upon checkout time without the Host's consent (“Overstay”), you no longer have a license to stay in the Accommodation and the Host is entitled to make you leave in a manner consistent with applicable law.

Once you have reached that limit, Airbnb will automatically close your booking capacity until the calendar year restarts. The limit will apply whether the occupied days are consecutive or spread out across several months.

If you want to bring extra guests

Some Hosts may have an extra guest fee and require that you submit a trip change request to add any additional guests to your reservation. Other Hosts might have a strict limit on the capacity for their home and can't accommodate any more people.
