I don’t know about you, but I tend to overdo it with Halloween candy. We have a lot of kids in our neighborhood, so I always like to be well-prepared. The problem is that most years I end up over-prepared, and end up with a lot of leftover Halloween candy. I know, that can be seen as a good or a bad thing. Rather than being tempted by a bowl of miscellaneous sweets for weeks, I have found it fun to try different baking projects with the leftover candy (check out this Dessert Recipes for Your Leftover Halloween Candy post here), this way I can share them with neighbors and co-workers and get them out of my house! I have just created a new recipe to use up leftover mini chocolate bars from Halloween: Snickers Brownies! These brownies (a version of my Classic Foolproof Brownies recipe) are a great way to use up some of that leftover Halloween candy! These brownies are made with Snickers bars, but you can substitute Milky Way candy bars for a different variation.

The recipe starts with a basic brownies recipe with layers of chopped Snickers bars.

I used approximately 30 Snickers mini bars to get the two cups needed for the recipe. Cutting the minis into fourths worked out perfectly for these brownies made with Snickers bars.

To make these Snickers Brownies extra Snickery (new word), I poured half the brownie batter in a pan, topped with a layer of Snickers (half of the amount of Snickers from the recipe), then covered with the other half of the batter. This way the brownies have Snickers layered into them.

When making this Snickers brownie recipe it is important to cover the Snickers layer completely with the second half of batter, otherwise the caramel from the Snickers will caramelize and possibly burn. You want to bake the candy chunks into the brownies.

After baking, and while the brownies are still soft and setting, I spread the second half of Snickers chunks over the top, and lightly pressed them into the top of the brownies so they’d stay.

Let the Snickers brownies cool completely before cutting and serving so they become fully set, and the Snickers on top melt nicely onto the surface.

These are pretty dang delicious if I don’t say so myself. My family and co-workers devoured them in minutes (despite how decadent they taste!). Here’s the full Snickers brownie recipe!
