Make a refreshing Bay Breeze co*cktail with just three simple ingredients! If you love pineapple and cranberry, then you will love this easy tropical drink.
We’ve almost made it to the weekend, friends, and that deserves a co*cktail! The Bay Breeze is one easy tropical co*cktail that will have you thinking you’re in the islands.
The good news is that you can make it year-round! If you love cranberry and pineapple, this Bay Breeze drink is going to be your new go-to tropical co*cktail.
Bay Breeze co*cktail
While we wait for summer to arrive, this co*cktail will have you dreaming of a tropical vacation and couldn’t we all use one of those about now, right? YES PLEASE!
Let’s talk about the Bay Breeze co*cktail! It also likes to go by the names of a Hawaiian Sea Breeze, a Downeaster, or a Paul Joseph. It’s a sister drink to the popular Sea Breeze co*cktail!
What is the difference between a Bay Breeze and a Sea Breeze?
While they sound similar and commonly mistaken for one another, a bay breeze and sea breeze are two different drinks.
While a Bay Breeze recipe has pineapple juice added to cranberry juice and vodka, a Sea Breeze swaps the pineapple juice out for grapefruit juice. Both are absolutely delicious!
The Bay Breeze drink feels like a tropical “twist” on the Sea Breeze.
How to Make a Bay Breeze co*cktail
Just three ingredients to the perfect tropical drink!
Next, let’s chat about how to make a Bay Breeze co*cktail. It uses the base of a Cape Codder with the addition of pineapple juice.
Bay Breeze Drink Ingredients
- Vodka
- Pineapple Juice
- Cranberry Juice
A note on the cranberry juice, be sure to find unsweetened cranberry juice rather than sweetened cranberry juice co*cktail as it will make your Bay Breeze too sweet. The pineapple juice gives it all the sweetness you need!
- You simply mix the vodka, cranberry juice and pineapple juice together
- Serve on the rocks.
- I also love to use crushed ice sometimes – like nugget ice – so good!
Can you use rum in lieu of vodka in a Bay Breeze drink?
Sure. It won’t *technically* be a Bay Breeze drink at that point, but it will definitely taste delicious.
How to Make a Malibu Bay Breeze
If you want to use rum to make your Bay Breeze, might I suggest coconut rum – like Malibu rum – if you go the rum route, it’s delicious! I like to call it a “Malibu Bay Breeze.” For the official Bay Breeze, however, use vodka!
How to Serve a Bay Breeze co*cktail
You can make this Bay Breeze recipe in a large batch for a crowd (which I really love) and serve it in a fun drink dispenser or pitcher with floating with fruit slices (pineapple and lime are my favorites here) and sprigs of mint.
I always love to find ways to make a drink “pretty” for presentation. This is especially perfect for occasions or celebrations where you want a “signature co*cktail” that’s easy, pretty AND most importantly – delicious!
If you’re making more than 1 Bay Breeze drink, here’s a little tip! In the recipe card below, just click on the “1” beside serving and adjust the slider to increase to your desired number. It will adjust the ingredients for you! Cool, huh?
You can easily size up to 6 or 8 and make it a Bay Breeze “pitcher drink” for a small gathering!
If you want to impress your friends the next time you’re making a signature drink for a party or gathering or you’re looking for drinks with vodka, then a Bay Breeze is the drink to make! It’s so delish.
